  • Deodorize and sanitize. If you mix the solution correctly you can do both in one easy and simple step.

o   Prepare two gallons of warm water and mix in half a gallon of vinegar. Stir to combine these two ingredients thoroughly.

o   Use a stiff brush of any sort to apply the solution and scrub the area.

o   Rinse thoroughly.

o   Reapply the solution and allow it to remain on the deck for 30 minutes.

o   Rinse the solution away.

  • Repeat this cleaning method whenever necessary.

Use Baking Soda for Easy Cleaning

The method of using baking soda is the easiest of them all and requires little effort. Simply sprinkle baking soda on the areas that need cleaned and deodorized. Lightly wet the area and then leave on the deck for at least thirty minutes. Scrub with a stiff brush and then rinse the deck off. Voila, you have a perfectly cleaned deck. You can repeat this cleaning method as often as necessary.

Bleach – for When Nothing Else Works

Some stains and odors are very stubborn, especially if they’ve been present for a lengthy period of time. If you have the most stubborn stenches and stains, bleach will be your best friend. Always remember to wear gloves to protect your skin from the bleach.

  • Mix two gallons of warm water with a half-gallon of bleach.
  • Apply to the area that needs cleaning and then scrub with a stiff brush.
  • Wait 10-15 minutes and then rinse the solution off the deck.

The bleach solution will not only clean and deodorize but it will remove mold and mildew as well.
